Passeig de Gràcia, the city's most beautiful boulevard lined with Modernist palaces and private residences, serves as backdrop for an immersion in art, architecture & the exhilarating atmosphere in which Gaudí and his contemporaries re-wrote urban architecture.

With 7 UNESCO sites to his name alone, Gaudí and a handful of brilliant architects created some of the most spectacular artwork of the last century. Modernisme, or Catalan Modernism, formed part of the larger Art Nouveau movement spanning across 20th century Europe from Lisbon to Moscow.

 

What to expect?

This experience offers a deeper appreciation of the exhilarating turn of the century Barcelona in which Modernist art and architecture ushered in the modern city we recognize today. We conclude at Gaudí's masterpiece and resting place, one of the most ambitious and recognizable buildings in the world - La Sagrada Familia - where we have the option to ascend one of its towering spires more than 150 feet and where spectacular views await.

What's included?

An expert local guide leads guests along Passeig de Gràcia for an in-depth discovery of the most prominent Modernist mansions and private residences, including Gaudí masterpieces Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, and a visit to the interior of Casa Ametller. We reach La Sagrada Familia by taxi, where we gain a global understanding of the work, life and time in which Gaudí lived as expressed in this universal masterpiece. While not included, we are happy to arrange visits inside La Sagrada Familia and up its towers.
