The famed Passeig de Gràcia boulevard serves as backdrop for an exploration in art, architecture and the exhilarating atmosphere in which Antoni Gaudí and his contemporaries lived, worked and forged a unique Catalan art & identity.

With 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites attributed to his name alone, Gaudí, along with a handful of brilliant architects, sculptors and craftsman, created some of the most spectacular artwork of the last century. Modernisme, or Catalan Modernism, was part of the larger Art Nouveau movement, which spread across 20th Century Europe from Lisbon to Moscow.

This tour aims to give a fuller understanding of the movement and bring to the fore its lesser known yet equally critical figures including Domènech i Muntaner, Jujol and Puig i Cadalfach. Detailed commentary on several exemplary Modernist palaces and an in-depth discussion of what distinguished Gaudí's genius from his contemporaries; the tour will end with a study of the façade of Gaudí's masterpiece and final resting place and one of the most ambitious building projects in the world, La Sagrada Familia.

"My wife and I went on "The Genius of Gaudí" and it blew our minds. Luke was our guide and he brought us along on a fun, informative tour that gave the perfect context for Gaudí's amazing works. Not only smart and knowledgeable he clearly loves the amazing art and architecture that he introduced us to. We've been on plenty of tours before, but this one was special -- the highlight being Luke's amazing reveal of La Sagrada Familia. I'll be mentioning Tailored Tours to everyone I know who travels to Barcelona."
